National Council for Women (NCW)

§    The National Council for Women (NCW) was established by Presidential Decree No. 90 in the year 2000 as an independent institution under the Presidency of the Republic. The Council is honored to have Her Excellency Mrs. Suzanne Mubarak, First Lady of Egypt, as the President of the National Council for Women. NCW’s mandate aims at empowering Egyptian women in all fields. NCW strategy confirms its fundamental vision to promote sustainable equitable human development by fostering a cohesive society in witch each member contributes to and benefits from development. NCW aims to enhance the status of all Egyptian women and maximize their contribution to the growth and development of Egypt. The focus is on narrowing existing socio-economic gender gaps and addressing women's strategic needs including social ,economic and political empowerment.

Scientific Association of Egyptian Women (SAEW)

 

§    The Scientific Association for Egyptian Women is a non-profit organization that was established in 1978 as the Scientific Association for Arab Women. The association focuses on the improving the effectiveness of Sciences and Technology in promoting socio-economic development, and is concerned with ensuring the active participation of women in all phases of the development activities. The SAEW conducts its activities under the umbrella of the National Research Centre (NRC), that enables it to flexibly use its infrastructure as well as its human resources in facing development problems by interdisciplinary research teams.

Women Business Development Center (WBDC)

§    The Women Business Development Center (WBDC) is a sustainable resource for women entrepreneurs & young women seeking employment with access to training, business counseling, information and sourcing of finance WBDC is one of several NCW development projects designed to achieve the economic empowerment of women as set forth in NCW mandate. The WBDC, was initiated through cooperative protocols between NCW and the US Agency for International Development (USAID).
